FOLKLORE

Everyone in the Isle of Man knows about the Manx tradition of saying hello to the fairies as you cross Fairy Bridge. The Manx are historically very superstitious and we have a fine collection of folklore about many of the stories of ghosts, goblins, giants and other creatures which supposedly inhabit the Island - stories passed down from generation to generation. The Phynodderee, The Tarroo Ushtey, Manannan Mac Lir, The white lady, Tehi Tegi, The Moddey Dhoo black dog of Peel Castle, The Buggane and of course Gef the talking mongoose.
